Kathmandu, 2 August. The chairperson of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has met the delegation of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and discussed current issues. RPP president Kamal Thapa, Pashupati Shamsher Jabra and Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani met the Chamber representative and discussed strategically on the problems of Nepali industrialists, the impact of COVID-19 on the economy, private sector efforts to boost the economy and the issues that RPP needs to address in the coming days.
During a meeting at the office of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Chamber Rajendra Malla stressed on the need to give priority to agriculture for the development of the country’s economic sector. Stating that the potential of agriculture is abundant in the background of Nepal importing food grains and agricultural commodities worth billions of rupees every year, he pointed out the need to prioritize agriculture and coordinate the production with the market by increasing the productivity of agriculture.
During the discussion held at the chamber on Wednesday, Malla said that the relief package of Coved has not reached the rural level.
He also stressed on the need to provide broker license in order to manage the real estate business, and to make provision for public investment in PPP model in industries to be established with foreign investment. The RPP met with the Lichtenberg delegation to discuss the concept of the private sector for the economic policy to be formulated in the near future.
On the occasion, RPP Chairman Kamal Thapa said that the suggestions of the chamber were very useful and he took them with interest.
RPP Chairman Pashupati Samsher Jabra said that the Rastriya Prajatantra Party believes in the role of the private sector in economic development and the participation of the private sector in the open market economy and the organized sector. Similarly, another president of RPP, Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani inquired about the suggestions presented by the chamber. On the occasion, RPP Finance Department Coordinator Uddhav Poudel and Executive Committee member Mohan Shrestha were also present.
Senior Vice President of the Chamber Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal, Vice President Deepak Malhotra and members of the Chamber Working Committee Parshuram Dahal, Rajaratna Tuladhar, Deepak Kaji Tuladhar and Ram Shrestha were also present on the occasion. RPP had earlier held discussions with the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday.
