Garima Bikas Bank Limited, a National Level Development Bank, then headquarter stationed at Waling, Syangja, commenced its commercial operations on 18th Kartik 2064 and formal inauguration had taken place on 7th Marg 2064. The Bank, which started its banking transactions with a paid up capital of Rs. 26.5 million only, had initially covered three districts i.e. Syangja, Palpa and Kaski as a Regional Level Development Bank and its business coverage area was expanded to 10 districts on 20th Chaitra 2068. The Bank was struggling to provide the banking services to the large strata of the customers in line with its Corporate Slogan of “Access to All” due to limited business coverage area and inadequate service distribution outlets. Therefore, it set a strategic plan to be a National Level Development Bank and merged erstwhile Nilgiri Bikas Bank Limited, headquartered at Beni, Myagdi on 29th Asadh 2072 and commenced the transactions as a National Level Development Bank. Later, it merged Subekshya Bikas Bank Limited having its Head Office at Narayangarh on 4th Aswin 2073 with the objectives of strengthening its capital base, expanding the branch locations and enhancing the business. The Bank recently acquired the Sahara Bikas Bank Limited, located at Malangwa, Sarlahi, which is expected to be supportive to the Bank in having strategic presence of the Bank in the Province 2.
