काठमाडौं । नेपाल चेम्बर अफ कमर्सका अध्यक्ष कमलेशकुमार अग्रवालले नेपाल अन्तराष्ट्रिय लगानीका लागि उत्कृष्ट गन्तव्य रहेको बताएका छन् ।

काठमाडौंमा आजदेखि सुरू भएको इमर्जिङ नेपाल इन्भेष्टमेन्ट समिटको उद्घाटन सत्रलाई सम्वोधन गर्दै अध्यक्ष अग्रवालले विश्वको तुलनामा सस्तो श्रमशक्ति, छिमेकी भारत र चीनको उपभोक्ता बजार लगायतका कारणले नेपाल विश्वकै उत्कृष्ट गन्तव्य रहेको बताएका हुन् ।

अध्यक्ष अग्रवालले भने, ‘नेपालमा ५७ प्रतिशत जनसंख्या सक्रिय श्रममा रहेको तथ्याङ्क छ, श्रम लागत पनि निकै सस्तो छ । यहाँ लगानीमार्फत उत्पादन भएका वस्तुहरुलाई विश्वका झण्डै ३ अर्व जनसङ्ख्या रहेका छिमेकी भारत र चीनको बजारमा पु¥याउन सकिन्छ ।’

आजको युगमा आर्थिक विकास र समृद्धिको यात्रामा एक्लै हिँड्न नसकिने भन्दै अध्यक्ष अग्रवालले संयुक्त लगानीका लागि आह्वान समेत गरे । लगानीको सुनिश्चितताका लागि सरकारले कानुनी वातावरण बनाएको अध्यक्ष अग्रवालको भनाइ छ । नेपालमा पर्यटन, जलविद्युत्, पूर्वाधार र सूचना प्रविधिको क्षेत्रमा लगानीका लागि अध्यक्ष अग्रवालले अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय लगानीकर्तालाई आह्वान गरे ।

विदेशी लगानीकर्तालाई प्रतिफल सुनिश्चित गर्न कानुनी वातावरणसँगै लाभयुक्त परियोजनाहरु छनोट गरेको अग्रवालले बताए । उनले भने, ‘अन्तराष्ट्रिय लगानीकर्ताका लागि सहज आवागमन, प्रतिफलको सुनिश्चितता र सहज बर्हिगमनको व्यवस्था एकद्वार नीतिबाटै गरिएको छ ।’ काठमाडौंमा भइरहेको तेस्रो अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय सम्मेलनले अर्थतन्त्रमा दीर्घकालीन महत्व राख्ने उनले बताए ।

लगानी सम्मेलनमा प्राथमिकताका क्षेत्रसहित लगानीको आव्हान गरिएको र निजी क्षेत्र पनि साथै रहेकाले सम्मेलन फलदायी हुने अध्यक्ष अग्रवालले बताए । अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय लगानी सम्मेलनमा चेम्बर अफ कमर्सका तर्फबाट करिव १ दर्जन आयोजनालाई सोकेसका रुपमा राखिएको छ ।

Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen, A very good Morning, I welcome you all to this mesmerizing country of Himalaya’s. It is indeed a proud moment for the country to invite you all to the “Emerging Nepal Investment Summit 2024”.

We have all gathered here to have a dialogue on investment opportunities in the country which shall ensure progress, sustainability, and perpetual growth in this nation. Every growth chapter begins firstly with a change in mindset. As I stand in front of you and heartily welcome you all, the feeling of hope and optimism is present in the vision of developing Nepal.
We realize that capitalizing on the potential cannot be achieved alone, however, it is very much possible through strategic investment, innovative and long-term partnerships, and unwavering commitments.

Understanding the importance of the shared model concept, I would like to once again emphasize the history and legacy of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce and its contribution to the development of the Nepalese economy over the last 7 decades. Today also it plays an important role as a strong linkage between the government and the private sector, facilitating and promoting all ways of growth of commerce and industries in the country.

Nepal’s abundance of endemic medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs), long history of traditional medicine, its international image as a place of spiritual healing provide unique advantages in today’s global health and wellness industries. Being ranked 9th globally in terms of highest remittance as % of GDP, it shows a good level of disposable income of its population. Hence it drives consumption within the market. Various global platforms have promoted Nepal as “Must Visit Place” thus showing opportunities in the tourism sector. Global warming and Climate Change is one of the most burning issues and challenges faced by all of us. As the world is shifting towards zero emission through renewable energy sources, Nepal has a unique competitive advantage to lead the way in harnessing the power of Green Hydrogen. By embracing this technology we can not only visualize a greener environment but also mitigate climate change while following the path of economic growth.

Various bilateral agreements along with active membership in different regional and international associations of nations also provide an open supportive climate for investments in Nepal. We business community in Nepal is a socialist-oriented market economy with a strong commitment of all political parties to further continue this and reach newer heights of development by facilitating easy entry, smooth exits, and repatriation of return in the form of capital appreciation and dividends.
